Notice

Fire chief Joe Egge of Split Rock Volunteer Fire Department has asked for assistance from the residents of Split Rock Township. Joe notes that over the years a number of the blue address signs have been moved, removed or landscaped around, so they have become impossible to see from the road. He noticed on a resent call not being able to see the address sign.

He said “I drove right by it”. .

Please review the placement of your sign and be sure it is visible from the road both in daylight and at night.

If your sign is missing, contact Minnehaha county.

 Thank you

About 70 percent of America's firefighters are volunteers, and 85 percent of the nation's fire departments are all or mostly volunteer, according to NFPA. The smallest communities — those with fewer than 10,000 residents — are almost always served by volunteer departments, also, according to NFPA.

Have you checked the batteries in your smoke detectors?

Splitrock Township Volunteer Fire Department covers approximately 40 square miles starting on the east side of Sioux Falls’ city limits over to Brandon and South to the Iowa state line.
